Seniors Patrick Farrell and J.T. Putt Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District
Denver, Colo.: Seniors Patrick Farrell and J.T. Putt were both named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic Baseball All-District VII First Team as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Farrell and Putt were both also named to the RMAC Academic First Team while Farrell was First Team All-RMAC and Putt second team.
Farrell, a catcher from Cheyenee, Wyo., led the Rangers this spring with a .386 batting average. He was one of the top homerun hitters in the nation finishing with 20 while also driving in a team-high 55 runs. His .897 slugging percentage is third base in Regis history and his homerun total second most. The exercise science/biology major had a cumulative 3.43 GPA through the fall semester. Farrell's .777 career slugging percentage topped the previous Regis record by .100 points.
Putt, an outfielder from Evergreen, Colo., sported a 3.94 GPA in business administration. His .386 career batting average and .696 slugging percentage are both second best in Regis history books. Putt finished the season hitting .335 with 11 homeruns and 43 RBI, the latter two second to Farrell's totals. He led the team with eight stolen bases, three sacrfice flies and six sacrifice hits.
Both student-athletes will move on to the national ballot.
