Seven Ranger Baseball Student-Athletes Named to RMAC All-Academic Teams

Colorado Springs, Colo.: Seven Ranger baseball student-athletes were recently named to the RMAC All-Academic teams, including two, senior Kyle Spencer and junior Anthony Musielak which were named to the second team.  Senior Brennan Bonati, junior Zach McBeth, sophomore Aaron Salvucci, and redshirt freshmen Steve Falconi and Mike McElreath were all named to the Honor Roll.

Spencer, from Longmont, Colo., is a relief pitcher for the Rangers who sports a 3.60 GPA in Business Administration.  Spencer leads the Rangers with four saves and 18 appearances.  He has a 7.63 ERA and is 2-1 on the season.  He has 21 strikeouts in 30 2/3 innings for the Rangers this season.

Musielak has a 3.62 GPA also in Business Administration.  Both a starting pitcher and a reliever, Musielak has appeared in 15 games, second to Spencer, and has a record of 2-4.  He has started seven games and pitched 41 innings while tying Spencer with four saves.  He leads the Rangers with 35 strikeouts.

Salvucci is the only position player to earn a spot on the Honor Roll for Regis, while the other four are all pitchers.  Salvucci has a 3.24 GPA in Business Administration and has started 29 games, mostly in left field.  Bonati, who was named to the Honor Roll two season ago, has started 11 games for Regis and is second with 33 strikeouts.

Falconi has played well as of late and the lefty from Colorado Springs has a 3.30 GPA in Biology.  He leads the Rangers with three wins and 52 2/3 innings.  McBeth has appeared in four games and has a 3.60 GPA in Bio-Chemistry, while McElreath leads the Rangers with a 4.15 ERA and sports a 3.31 GPA in Business Administration.  He tops the team limiting opposing batters to just a .226 batting average.

Senior outfielder Jason Fobes (3.89, Business Administration) of CSU-Pueblo was named the 2009 RMAC Baseball Academic Player of the Year.
