Two Ranger Pitchers Allow Just One Run in 4-1 Win Over Colorado Mines

Golden, Colo.: Junior Anthony Musielak and senior Kyle Spencer combined to scatter just four hits and allow just one run to Colorado Mines in helping the Rangers to a 4-1 win in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. 

Musielak went 6 1/3 innings allowing four hits and one run while striking out a career-high nine batters.  Spencer then relieved Musielak and over the next 2 2/3 innings did not allow Mines (4-13, 1-4 RMAC) to get a hit, while striking out three.  Musielak is now 1-1 overall and leads all Rangers who have pitched over five innings with a 3.45 ERA.  Spencer picked up his first save of the season for Regis (8-9, 1-4 RMAC).

Regis scored three of their runs unearned off of two errors by Mines.  Regis also had two errors but they did not come back to haunt them.

Junior Gerard Mohrmann and sophomore Aaron Salvucci each had two hits including one double each.

Cory Ast threw eight innings for Mines striking out 11 Rangers allowing on earned runs scattering three hits.

The two teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday with the first game to begin at 12 PM in Golden.
