Matt Levering and Steve Caruso Named to RMAC All-Time Team
Colorado Springs, Colo.: Matt Levering and Steve Caruso were both named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Time Team. Levering played for the Rangers during the 2004 season, while Caruso played from 1976-79. Bob Fornelli, Fort Hays State, was named the all-time top coach, while Sergio Romo from Mesa State was tabbed as the all-time top player.
Levering played third base for the Rangers in 2004 and led NCAA Division II in RBI (87) and batting average (.507). He was a First Team All-RMAC and a First Team All-America selection during his one season in a Ranger uniform. Levering holds season school records in at-bats (211) runs (71), hits (107), triples (8), RBI (87), and total bases (190).
Caruso was a shortstop for the Rangers from 1976-79. He was a two-time First Team All-RMAC selection and led the nation in hitting in 1979 with a .486 average. His lifetime .421 batting average is a Regis career record.
