Kelly McLaughlin Named Assistant Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Services and Compliance
Denver, Colo.: Regis University Director of
Athletics Ann Martin today announced the hiring of Kelly McLaughlin
as assistant director of athletics. McLaughlin will be in
charge of student-athlete services and compliance, while also being
an integral part of the overall administration of Regis
athletics. She will begin her duties on August 3rd.
Martin says, “I am pleased to have Kelly join our athletic
department. Her RMAC and NCAA knowledge will be invaluable
for the growth of our department. It will be a seamless
transition that will not only help our department but more
importantly our student-athletes.”
McLaughlin has been the head athletic trainer at Bishop Machebeuf
High School in Aurora, Colo. since 2008 while concurrently being
employed as a transportation security officer at Denver
International Airport. Prior to those positions McLaughlin
was part of the athletic department at RMAC-foe Colorado Christian
University from 2000-2008.
“I am excited to become a part of a team that has a strong
tradition and reputation of integrity,”comments McLaughlin.
She began her tenure at CCU as the Cougars head athletic trainer
and quickly moved into the associate athletic director role.
McLaughlin exclusively supervised six sports as well as the
athletic training program. She did a variety of jobs
including but not limited to: fundraising, NCAA compliance and
eligibility, student-athlete academic coordination, and NCAA and
RMAC reporting.
Some of McLaughlin’s main responsibilities will be to
monitor NCAA, RMAC and Regis compliance for all 12 sports.
She will also monitor and track recruiting and do all reporting for
the above three entities. McLaughlin will also be
instrumental in student-athlete services and serve as a liaison
between athletics and student services on campus.
McLaughlin earned her athletic training degree from Metropolitan
State College of Denver in 1995 as well as a secondary english
education degree.
