Denver, Colo.: The Regis University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee today named their October Athletes of the Month. Senior Sonja Nelson of the women's cross country team and Ben Buhler of the men's soccer team were named the female and male athlete's of the month.
Sonja Nelson: Nelson is a standout senior on the women's cross country team. Her times have improved substantially this year and has helped the team to their first ever regional ranking. This weekend she will help lead the Rangers, who are ranked sixth in the central region, at the RMAC Cross Country Championships in Las Vegas, N.M. The Morrison, Colo. native is a sociology major with a minor in criminology.

Ben Buhler: Ben Buhler has been a great asset to the men’s soccer team. He scored the game winning goal vs. No. 1 ranked Colorado Mines. He received the honor of RMAC Offensive Player of the Week during that week and was named First Team RMAC academic all- conference with a 3.76 GPA. He was also a second team selection for his play on the field. The finance and accounting major, Buhler, hails from Greeley, Colo.
