Softball Senior Student-Athlete Chelsie Rademacher Named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team

DENVER, Colo.-- Senior softball student athlete Chelsie Rademacher was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team for District 7. These awards were released on May 8th as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors Association.

Other notable RMAC players to earn honors included: Heather Ebert (Adams State), Jenna Peters (Fort Lewis) and Stacey Haney (UC-Colorado Springs) who were named to the first team. Mesa State's Meagan Hennessy joined Rademacher on the second team.

Three Ranger Softball Student-Athletes Named to All-RMAC Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Three Ranger softball players earned postseason honors today in a release issued by the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Alisa Heronema, Christine Gardella, and Kaitlyn Gentert were all named First Team All-RMAC as voted on by the coaches.

Heather Ebert from Adams State was named Player of the Year while Cary Moone was tabbed the Pitcher of the Year. RMAC champions Colorado School of Mines had the Freshman of the Year Sarah Van Lingen and Coach of the Year Annie Van Wetzinga.

Heronema, a freshman outfielder from Berthoud, Colo., was the only freshman that earned first team honors. As the Rangers lead-off hitter she finished the season tied for first in the conference in hits with 84. She consequently broke the Regis single-season record of 83 held by Melissa Backlund during the 2006 season. She also led the conference in triples this season with seven and ranks seventh in batting average finishing the season hitting .424.
